Bill Clinton’s CNN Interview on Stem Cell Research

In this incredible interview with Bill Clinton on the topic of stem cell research, he refers to “embryos not yet fertilized”, not just once, but five or six times.

He says we “need to make it clear that they’re not going to fool with any embryos where there’s any possibility, even if it’s somewhat remote, that they could be fertilized and become human beings.”

The best case scenario for the President is that he is confusing the concept of “fertilization” with “implantation”. But if that is the case, then he is saying if there is any chance that the parents may in the future decide to implant the embryo or give up the embryo for adoption, then it should not be used.  By that logic, all embryos would be excluded, because there is always that chance.

In any case, he obviously has no idea what he is talking about, and the interviewer, Dr. Sanjay Gupta, said nothing to correct him. Talk about “anti-science”.
